Low plastic office: erasers

Some of my favorite erasers are proudly and plainly “plastic” — so once they’re used up I’ll get no more. Natural gum rubber erasers are available and presumably biodegradable. The last one I got wasn’t even packaged but a promotional piece from an arts supply store.

Bag surcharge bill to DC Council

Twelve of the thirteen members of the District of Columbia Council have introduced the Anacostia River Cleanup and Protection Act which includes a five-cent fee on disposable grocery bags, plastic or paper.
Would be nice if it included other retailers — especially restaurants — but this probably gets the biggest number of bags off [...]

Shredded cabbage hack

I love cabbage: tasty, low-calorie, available year-round, inexpensive and (for the purpose of this blog) available without plastic. I can even get it grown locally.

Next to shampoo, the Deodorant Question looms the largest in the world of the seriously plastic-free. And somewhere in my head I made the calculation and thought “that’s too far.” I can zap plastic in other parts of my life before I go there. Thus LowPlastic.com.
